JINX 103
Jozsef Trefeli invites Gabor Varga to join him to invest in a public space, exploring together the rhythms and rituals of life. This meeting between two dancers, one born in Australia and the other in the USSR, both belonging to the Hungarian Diaspora, brings them face-to-face to explore their common heritage. This undertaking finds expression through the dance techniques they have in common, even if they were learnt on opposite sides of the globe.

A common vocabulary; body percussion, where even the most basic rhythms are extremely complex, with clapping and slapping, clicking and stamping, to create a surprisingly virtuoso dance, with lightning fast footwork, leg twisting and weaving, high kicks and turning jumps.

With regards to the title: when two people accidentally say the same thing at the same time, in many languages, there is a word that must be quickly said to protect oneself from the bad luck it could produce: in English one says JINX and in Hungarian one says 103.

Prehistoric hermaphrodite meets futuristic reptile - after Kylie ate her babies and József dropped his lizard lover they began their planet-hopping Kabaret Galaktika. This short stopover for some alien sex from light years away brings you extraterrestrial sounds and pulsating moves from beyond our time. Singing “galaktik” hits from out of this world from artists who revolutionised music, and are possibly aliens themselves. Hits – cult musical moments of our times which will continue to inspire and influence future generations of artists on this lonely little planet and beyond in the fantastic ever evolving outer space. A huge sonic moment brought to the stage with the erotic energy and “extraterrestrordinary” talents of the band.
